Clewiston Elks Lodge Hosts Soccer Shoot

On Sept. 13, Belen Moncada placed first in the U-8 girls’ category and was the top overall scorer for girls at Clewiston Lodge’s Soccer Shoot. Winners advance from lodge to district to regional Soccer Shoots, all in Clewiston, before moving on to the state Soccer Shoot at the Florida Elks Youth Camp in Umatilla Jan. 7.

Jupiter Elks Lodge Hosts Breakfast with Easter Bunny

On April 16, Jupiter Elks Lodge #2469 hosted its annual Breakfast with the Easter Bunny, with the community welcome. The event was a membership drive as well. Attendees enjoyed a breakfast buffet and the children spent one-on-one time with the Easter Bunny and took home Elks Easter arts and crafts. In attendance was wounded Army veteran Justin Callahan and his wife, Katie, and their children, residents of Jupiter Farms, Florida. His leg was amputated while serving the front lines in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom in 2003. They recently moved to the community as they were gifted a home from Homes For Our Troops.

Clewiston Elks Lodge Hosts Flag Day Ceremony with Scouts and the Public

Clewiston Elks Lodge #1853 held its annual Flag Day ceremony June 15. The event was open to the public and local scouts performed the Parade of Flags. Frank Sellers, PDD, talked to the kids about the meaning of the Pledge of Allegiance. A dinner followed the event as well.

Lake Okeechobee Elks Announce Soccer Shoot Regional Winner

On Jan. 22, Sofia Velasco placed first in the U8 girls category at the southeast regional Soccer Shoot for Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Florida. Sofia previously won first place in the U8 girls category Jan. 9 at the state Soccer Shoot. She was sponsored by Lake Okeechobee Elks Lodge #2871.

Santa and Mrs. Claus Make Special Stop at Jupiter Elks Lodge

Children and their families joined Santa and Mrs. Claus for a buffet breakfast Dec. 12 at Jupiter Lodge from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children had one-on-one time with Santa had their photos taken with him. They also enjoyed holiday crafts, music and dancing.
