On Oct. 21, members from Sebastian Lodge and their families participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Riverside Park in Vero Beach, Florida. The lodge also donated $1,000 to the American Cancer Society.

On Oct. 19, Sebastian Lodge participated in National Night Out, hosted by the Sebastian Police Department. Members gave out information and approximately 100 coloring books and red ribbons from the Drug Awareness program. they distributed flyers to promote the Drug Awareness poster and essay contests and the Americanism essay contest. They also spoke with several children about their upcoming Hoop Shoot. They dispersed scholarship information to more than a dozen high school seniors and their parents about the Elks National Foundation MVS Scholarship, the HOPE Scholarship and lodge scholarships. Several attendees requested membership applications, which were provided to them.

On Sept. 20, members of Sebastian Elks Lodge #2714 donated more than $500 worth of school supplies to Fellsmere Elementary School.

On Aug. 9, the Viera Elks Lodge’s Antlers members served dinner at the State President’s visit to the Southeast Central District. In addition, they presented State President Joe Cooper with a $300 donation for the Harry-Anna Trust Fund from their charity fund. Pictured are Antlers Donald Ahlin, Jake Vargas,  Lillie Box, Isabella Di SiasCio, Janey Vargas, David Liao, and Evan Enrique with Allie and Joe Cooper.

The Antlers also stayed busy during the summer holding several car washes at different venues as a part of the summer charity challenge to benefit the Brevard Homeless Coalition. They raised $1,284. On Aug. 26, they prepared, served and cleaned up from the entire meal at the lodge.

On Aug. 8, Port St. Lucie Lodge used its $2,000 Elks National Foundation Beacon Grant to purchase food for Grace Packs of Port St. Lucie, Florida. The food items were distributed to 803 children in St. Lucie County who otherwise would not have enough to eat over the weekends.
