Every year the Inverness Lodge of Elks gives Citrus United Basket (CUB) a major donation. This year the Elks were able to raise $1,200 for CUB. Walt Mabie, chairman of the annual charity effort, said, "Helping within the local community is a goal of the Elks, and having CUB as a partner gets that job done with efficiency and care." Mabie went on to say, "After all these years of being a Chicago Cubs fan, it's a pleasure to help a CUB organization have a successful season." Support from the lodge has been ongoing for many years – and CUB has been assisting the community since 1978 with help in everything from food to finances, and beyond.
