Eustis Elks Lodge #1578 set up two booths at the Eustis First Friday event Oct. 3. One booth included a table filled with Elks brochures and giveaways, such as Eustis Elks wood rulers, pencils and Florida Elks Red Ribbons. The theme for this month was the Red Ribbon program, and ribbons and giveaways were given to the many adults and children who stopped at the booth. The other booth had the Drug Awareness double free throw basketball game, which was a big hit with the youth. This allowed the Elks to explain the Hoop Shoot program to those who shot baskets. The event and lodge booths were well attended. The booth is a new yearlong monthly program that the new Exalted Ruler has committed to staff.
